Review Of Petrainer 330 Yards Remote 4 in 1 LCD Rechargeable and Waterproof Pet Dog Training Collar with 100lvs Shock and Vibration for 2 Dogs

After I Buy Petrainer 330 Yards Remote 4 in 1 LCD Rechargeable and Waterproof Pet Dog Training Collar with 100lvs Shock and Vibration for 2 Dogs

This is a remote controlled training collar set (for dogs), providing electronic stimulation to correct unwanted behaviors. This training set is rechargeable and is waterproof, a nice feature if you have dogs that like to jump in lakes (like mine do). This set has 4 modes; shock, vibration, sound, and light. The vibration and shock have multiple levels of strength so you can set it appropriately for your size of dog.

This training set has saved my sanity! My jack russel terrier would NOT stay in the yard. We tried everything! We have a regular privacy fence - she digs underneath it. We added bricks, a layer of fencing on the ground itself, etc. and she would still dig out! We put in an invisible fence - that worked for a very short period of time, but she realized that if she wanted out bad enough she'd take the shock associated with going past the boundary and just keep running! I was skeptical that this would make a difference but I was hopeful.

We charged the batteries on the receivers (collars) and the remote control. Put them on the dogs and took them outside. It wasn't long before my little escapee was off...I used the vibration warning and it surprised her so much that she jumped and immediately turned around and ran home and went straight inside! The next time we took them out, my escapee decided to chase a cat. Now, cats are a problem. She gets completely fixated and will chase them for HOURS. She ran in to the woodsy area behind our home and was not responding to our calls (we could hear her barking like a maniac though). We used the vibration feature and this time, she did not respond (or at least she did not respond enough to come out). We resorted to using the shock feature. Well, this time she came out immediately. She forgot about the cat and came home! That was the only time we've ever had to use the shock feature; now, she responds to us calling her VERY well and she rarely runs off. If she does get distracted and begins to wander, she will normally come back when we call. If she doesn't, we simply vibrate the collar to get her attention and she returns immediately. This set has been a life saver for us and probably for her too!

Review Of Litter Genie 3-Pack Standard Refill for Litter Box

After I Buy Litter Genie 3-Pack Standard Refill for Litter Box

Amazon is showing the picture of the Litter Genie refill picture when you search for Litter Genie refill, but they have combined the name of two different products, Litter Genie and Litter Locker in the product name. It reads "Litter Locker 12-pack Genie Cat Litter Disposal System Refills".

The product description describes the Litter Genie, not the Litter Locker II refill that I received. The price is for the Genie, which is about $20 more than the Locker II product that was shipped.

The two products are not interchangeable. The Genie is square and purple in color, the Locker II is round and green.

Amazon customer service was very nice about picking up the incorrect product, but I worry that others may get the wrong product. I hope they ship me the Genie refills when they ship the replacement!!

Amazon, check your product webpage!

Review Of Taste of the Wild Dry Dog Food, Pacific Stream Canine Formula with Smoked Salmon, 30-Pound Bag

After I Buy Taste of the Wild Dry Dog Food, Pacific Stream Canine Formula with Smoked Salmon, 30-Pound Bag

I've done hours and hours of homework on high quality, grain-free dog foods. From product analysis, kcal analysis, ingredients, customer reviews, professional reviews, company recalls - all of it... I have become a mini-expert in the field.

I was pushed into becoming an expert because my yellow Lab kept having seizures and I couldn't figure out the source. I finally learned it was her food, which was the most expensive store bought brand my local Sams Warehouse carries. I thought I was giving her the best, it looked fresh and rich, but it turns out it was just absolutely terrible food. My black Lab also had terrible skin allergies, to the point where I would get a small rash on my skin if he laid next to me on the couch for more than 5 minutes at a time. I had no clue it was because of the food. But it was!

Since having that epiphany and learning so much about dog food, I've always made sure to feed them the highest quality grain free food I can buy. This Taste of the Wild (TOTW) fits the bill very nicely, and they love it. Since switching to a grain free diet, the yellow lab has not had any more seizures in over a year, and the black lab has the silkiest coat you've ever seen and his skin allergies are completely gone.

They are on 2/3rds dry and 1/3rd wet combination. Contrary to what I had previously been raised to believe, a wet diet is not bad for dogs but in fact is superior! I use the combination to save money while providing them the best I can.

Before deciding on TOTW, I had also tried Blue Buffalo, Wellness Core, and Orijen. Briefly: they are all good foods, but my labs were happiest on TOTW and my wallet is also happiest on TOTW. I also believe TOTW has a better formulation for them and their life style (some of the products, like Orijen, are simply too rich for the average household dog, despite being made of the best ingredients available).

Enter TOTW. The dry food is dark and rich, with no sign of crumbling. The kibble is a good average size. The wet food has nice chunks of meat and the right amount of gravy. I use the wet food as a topper to mix the 2/3rd dry and 1/3rd wet together for their meals. I use one whole can of wet per meal with my pack, which is convinient so I don't have to store it in the refrigerator - btw, never store canned dog food in the fridge in the original aluminum container!

I still wish I could find a less expensive product with the same quality, but in the mean time, TOTW is the best choice for my pack.

Review Of Purrfect Thermal Cat Mat Leapord Prints (Gray Leopard)

Review Of Purrfect Thermal Cat Mat Leapord Prints (Brown Leopard)

After I Buy Purrfect Thermal Cat Mat Leapord Prints (Brown Leopard)

I bought these about 7 years ago for a multi-pet household and I'm still using all four of them. With no fewer than six cats using them, they've been through the ringer - aka the washing machine more times than I can count. And out of the four that I have, only one has finally developed a small wear spot (that means it's lasted longer than most of my t-shirts). Unlike many mats, whatever material is inside of them does NOT bunch up after washing. They generally come out in the same condition they went in to the machine.

I usually place them on the floor in front of the heat vents and all of the cats will squeeze together onto them - even some that normally do not get along. No matter where I put one, there's sure to be a cat on it making it the perfect diversionary tactic for work spaces. I put one off to the side of my computer so they can sleep close but not be on my keyboard.

I would absolutely recommend these to any cat owner.

One thing I'd never thought I'd ever consider myself very knowledgeable about would be piddle pads. I'm a pro. I've tried several different brands and know what I want and don't want in them. Yes, I've used the medical chucks and they do work for me, but because my Liam can be a roamer, sometimes they aren't as optimal as I'd like. The chucks, which are fairly inexpensive, measure only 17" x 24 inches. In my short video clip you can see the difference between them and the All-Absorb, which is a much, much better option.

You really have to think about your reason for ordering this size pad. If you have a small dog under ten pounds, these will be perfect. If you have a large breed pup who will quickly outgrow them, you'll be sorely disappointed. I use them year-round, but many people use them during the winter months because their dogs can't go out in inclement weather.

FEATURES:

► Quick drying surface prevents tracking

► The super-absorbent core can turn urine into gel instantly and hold up to 3 cups of liquid

► Built-in attractant and odor neutralizer

► Perfect for training or assisting aging dogs

► Leak proof

► Standard Size (22"x23")

The surface of the All-Absorb pads quickly wicks away the liquid into the fiber. Sometimes the thicker pads tend to keep the liquid on the surface for some reason, but the All-Absorb work well in this regard. I change pads often and you'll have to consider how many you'll use when you decide to order. One hundred pads will probably last long enough to get that pup trained.

I'm not having any "adjustment" problems with the All-Absorb and I do like the added width. The All-Absorb pads are specifically made for training, although they are perfect for the inside dog. There are directions for use on the side of the box. Once again, make sure that you order these pads for a smaller breed dog. If you disregard the measurements and and they don't suit your pet's needs you can't blame the pads. Very nice pads and perfect for smaller breed dogs, especially those little rovers.

Sample provided for review.

Review Of Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter, 40 pound bag

After I Buy Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter, 40 pound bag

I work at a pet store and own two cats. I'm able to test litter used for one cat per box at home, and multiple cats at the adoption center located within my store. I've also had the opportunity to try a great deal of products. This litter is absolutely amazing, the best I've ever used. The clumps are as hard as rocks, but at the same time don't break apart into smaller pieces like some other litters do. It's unscented, and the litter box remains odorless even after heavy use. It's also dust free.

To compare to other brands:

World's Best is natural, flushable, non-toxic, and clumping. However, if you live in a small house or apartment the smell will get to you. The litter box will smell like vomit even after a couple uses. I have never used Swheat Scoop, but I heard it's a little better with smell than World's Best.

Fresh Step, Tidy Cats, Premium Choice, and Petco's store brand are decent, but each has disadvantages like dust, or clumps breaking apart or turning into sticky mud. They're relatively cheap however, so this is a major advantage for those on a tight budget.

Crystal litters have amazing odor control, last awhile, and don't track. There isn't a single clumping litter that doesn't track. The problem, however is with diarrhea or loose stools. You'll end up throwing away a ton of litter since the crystals don't clump. Not all cats will use the crystals, and some people are also worried about health effects from the silica dust, though companies that produce the litter claim it is non-toxic.

Cedar, crushed pea, pine cone, and cellulose litters all have their own problems. The crushed pea litter is basically dust in a bag. Even though the smells of pine or cedar are pleasant to humans and mask the smell of urine and feces, many cats are afraid of the odor and won't use the litter box. These litters also suffer from the same problems as the crystals with regards to diarrhea and loose stools. Cellulose litters don't smell, but they also cannot handle loose stools and may not absorb as well as crystals.

If a natural, flushable, environmentally litter is important to you, by all means purchase a litter based on wheat or corn. If price is the most important factor, buy a cheap clumping brand if minor inconveniences don't bother you too much. If you want a reasonably priced, high quality product with no dust and great clumping ability then choose Precious Cat Ultra.

Review Of Musher's Secret Pet Paw Protection Wax (200 g)

After I Buy Musher's Secret Pet Paw Protection Wax (200 g)

I've been an intermittent paw-wax user for a long time, most recently converted to Musher's Secret. I do not live in a snow-belt region so this is primarily for surface-contact protection rather than preventing inter-pad snow buildup.

The stuff is awesome, however I have two caveats:

1) Use a latex or nitrile rubber glove when applying it. ... Unless of course you intend to wax your paws as well. :-) This also lets you use it sparingly while still working it thoroughly into the paw pad and inter-pad fur.

2) If you are putting this stuff on a mixed-location dog (indoors + walks or indoors + outdoors), put it on at the front door on your way out, otherwise the non-absorbed fraction leaves warm waxy paw-prints all over indoor surfaces.

Omega Paw RA20 Self-Cleaning Litter Box, Large, Green and Beige

This is a short demonstration video of how to use the Omega Paw Roll'n Clean Litter Box. I am not a representative for any product I am reviewing. I am just a customer who was interested in buying a new litter box for my cat and probably just like yourself was reading reviews to find one that got high praises. When I came across this litter box, I couldn't picture how it worked exactly but I was tired of the same old litter boxes so I took a chance and bought the Omega Paw Self Cleaning Litter Box. I hated scooping and changing out bags. When I received the litter box and actually tried it, I absolutely loved the concept. I wondered how many people had difficulty visualizing the concept as I did. I liked the litter box so much I decided to do a short demonstration on how it works. I shoved the "poo" back in the box at the end of the video because I don't think anyone needs a demo on how to dispose cat poo :p

Now on to the actual review. It is a very easy to use litter box. I have found that I've used less litter with this box and there is less odor. It is a very economical litter box and I don't dread cleaning it as much as I have in the past with other boxes. No more bags and no more scooping. Just roll and empty the tray! Just use the brand of cat litter of your choice as long as it is the CLUMPING cat litter. I would recommend getting the large box as the regular size is very small and IMO would only accomodate a kitten or small cat. My cats seem to appreciate the privacy of the box and the litter scatter is minimized compared to other litter boxes. I definitely recommend this litter box. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

To clean the litter box: Roll the box on its right side ( or until you hear all the soiled litter go into the tray), then roll back to the stationary position like I demonstrated in the video. Sometimes you may need to roll the box almost on its top depending on how full it is and how often you clean it. The soiled litter will have gone up and over into the tray area and will remain there until emptied. Then slightly roll the box to the left to allow the clean litter back into the box. Slide the tray open and you will find the soiled litter. Empty litter and replace tray in litter box. You will find the process is quite simple and less of a hassel than using bags or scooping.
